Foreign Exchange
Expatriates, international investors
and frequent travelers often need to move money
between currencies and the conventional bank systems
for doing this are often slow, cumbersome and
expensive. There are also trading and investment
opportunities in foreign exchange.
A host of services has sprung up to cater to
the needs of internationally mobile capital outside
the conventional banking system, which has been
slow to respond to the needs of modern investors
and traders.
Some of these simply allow the transfer of money
on nominated dates at pre-booked exchange rates,
often free; others offer alternatives to conventional
stores of value using gold or other instruments;
and for more demanding, professional traders there
are currency exchanges in many cities worldwide,
often offshore, which allow trading to take place
in a tax-free environment.
There is a considerable amount of
helpful material on foreign exchange in investorsoffshore,
and for that matter on our other sites as well,
so here are some links to relevant parts of our
