REPLY: There's no import tax but you'll have to pay a registration tax that is a percentage of the car's value. It's not cheap so it might be better in the long run to buy a new car in Greece. |

REPLY: You can drive in not a problem, but have to register it. the only way around this is buying a return boat ticket (Patra-Ancona-Patra) every 6 months as fake proof that you have left the country and returned, as your 6 month allowance will be renewed ! |

I am a Greek myself living abroad. Not trying to discourage or dissuade you but i have a friend doing that for the last ten years or so which told me some fascinating stories. Importing a car into Greece is not an easy task. It is costly and you will end having a bitter taste with the way the authorities work there every time you would need to deal with them (locking or unlocking the car).
