Banking

Everyone needs banking services, and 'offshore' provides lots of extra options, whether you invest there or live there. Nowadays of course if your bank provides Internet banking, as almost all of them do, you may not need to change your bank simply because you go offshore. But if you live offshore, you may find that local banks will offer you services such as lending which your 'legacy' home bank may not be willing to provide.

Then there is the question of private banking. Despite recent horror stories emanating from Switzerland, Germany and Italy, if you stick to the rules there is plenty to be gained from personalized banking. If you have been subject to the strait-jacket forced on you by 'high-street' banks, you will be amazed at the flexibility and level of service provided by 'private' banks.
