HSBC's Expat Explorer Tool Launched
Monday, May 02, 2011
A unique and ground-breaking online tool for expats, launched in late April,
has been developed by a team from HSBC Bank International in Jersey.
The ‘Expat Explorer’ tool, accessible at www.expatexplorer.hsbc.com,
is an interactive resource that has been designed specifically for expats around
the world by the marketing team at HSBC Bank International, together with digital
agency Heathwallace.
It provides unprecedented access to information and insights from HSBC’s
Expat Explorer Survey, the world’s largest expat survey, and in the first
four weeks since launch has been used by over 22,300 individuals from over 120
countries, making it one of the most comprehensive facilities of its kind globally.
Bringing together all the data from the Survey’s three reports in 2010
- Expat Economics, Expat Experience and Offshore Offspring - the tool details
every aspect of life abroad, such as the education system, language barriers,
levels of income, quality of accommodation and healthcare.
As well as providing expats with a highly visual insight into what it would
be like to live in a different country, through case studies, graphics, charts
and league tables, the tool can also be used to compare criteria in a range
of countries and can be integrated with social media.
Commenting on the launch, Lisa Wood, Head of Marketing at HSBC Bank International,
said: “The online launch of Expat Explorer is a proud moment for everyone
who has been involved in the development of such a unique resource for expats
around the world, particularly the team here in Jersey. It is one of the most
comprehensive facilities of its kind in the world and is evidence that we have
the expertise here to develop something that really is new and exciting.”
Nick Winsor, Chief Executive, HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man, added:
“This new service demonstrates our commitment to building on the success
of our Expat Explorer Survey and understanding expats’ lives. Considering
a move abroad can be a daunting prospect, often involving a huge amount of research
and hopefully this new online resource will provide some really useful insights
for potential expats.” |
