HSBC Bank International Secures Top Internet Bank Award
Friday, August 12, 2011
HSBC Bank International, headquartered in Jersey, has once again been recognised
for the quality of its internet banking service.
The Bank has been awarded ‘Best Consumer Internet Bank’ in the
Channel Islands for the second successive year by the US-based publication Global
Finance in its annual awards scheme for the world’s best internet banks.
The Bank‘s entry will now go forward to the global awards, which are
judged and announced in New York in November.
The Global Finance Internet Banking Awards, now in their 12th year, highlight
the global banking industry’s capabilities in using and developing internet
services, with almost 250 individual banks from around the world entering this
year. Judging was undertaken by a panel of technology experts and the magazine’s
editors.
Winning banks were selected based on strength of strategy for attracting and
serving online customers, success in getting clients to use web offerings, growth
of online customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits
gained from Internet initiatives and website design and functionality.
HSBC Bank International’s website (www.offshore.hsbc.com), which was
developed by its Jersey-based online team, was re-launched in 2009 with a brand
new look and an enhanced range of services specifically designed for its international
expatriate customers.
Nick Winsor, CEO of HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said:
“The award is further recognition of the hard work undertaken by all
the team in Jersey, together with our extended network of colleagues and partners,
in ensuring that our internet offering is of the highest quality. To be recognised
as the best internet bank in the country category for the 2nd successive year
shows the consistency of our offering and illustrates once again the level of
expertise amongst our team here in Jersey. We continue to work on features of
HSBC Bank International’s online service so that expats obtain the best
possible functionality from the site.” |
